1st Place Beg Master 1 Bill Ringler - Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers remains undefeated for the Classic Series presented by Trek races. He almost lost that status due to the slippery terrain and a fierce competitor in second place - excerpt from his interview: "Once I hit the top of the last hill, I realized my competition was directly behind me. I tried to stretch it out in the last 300 yards and it was a good thing, as I slipped out on the last turn for the finish line. After quickly picking my bike and myself up, I finished 2 seconds ahead of Ed for the win." The man "directly behind" Bill was Ed Camelli who indeed was just 2 seconds back at 1:02:40 which should move him into second place for the Beg. Master 1 Series championship race. 3rd Place was John Haupt with a time of 1:07:50. 1st Place Beg Master 2 goes to John Hendrickson - FSVS who walked away from the competition with over a 12 minute lead in 1:03:57. Michael Livelsberger - Cycleworks took second at 1:13:16 and a little over one minute behind him was 3rd Place Charles Nuyianes - Cycle Socic. Sport Race
Second Overall Sport Women Claire Hayes - Bike Line Corporate showed again why she is a force to be reckoned with winning the 35+ 1st Place position convincingly with a time of 2:00:59. Current series champion Tracey Whyte - Bike Line Corporate came in second earning more points for her team and holding off 3rd Place Jill Wiest - Yellow Breeches Racing who is a close second is series points. Taylor McClain - Yellow Breeches Racing continued his winning ways taking first place in the Sport Junior Men's race in 1:28:48. It was a much closer race for 2nd and 3rd place as 2nd Place Andrew Alesio (1:39:31) stayed ahead of his brother Dylan Alesio who took 3rd Place Sport Junior about a minute and a half back from Andrew with a time of 1:40:59. Justin Leidy - Green Mtn Cyclery won the Sport Senior 1 race with a time of 1:30:33. Justin Kast was 2nd just a hair over a minute back at 1:31:36. Third place Marty McKeon - Green Mtn Cyclery joined his teammate on the podium with a time of 1:37:17 holding off Tim Collins who was right on his wheel just 9 seconds away at 1:37:26. The Sport Senior 2 race was dominated by Peter Bruinsma - Cycle Fit taking 1st Place in 1:29:24. 2nd Place Nick Rinker - First Capital Velo earned more points for his team with a time of 1:33:03. Brent Biddle - First State Velo Sport (race director in years past plus helped out again this year ) kept Nick on his toes taking 3rd Place less than a minute back at 1:33:55. At the last Classic Series presented by Trek race (D&Q Summer Sizzler) Ben Anemone - Bike Line Corporate had to sprint into the finish winning the Sport Vet 1 race. There would be no repeat of that this race. Ben had close to a seven minute lead at the end with a time of 1:29:43. Teammate Thayer Seese - Bike Line Corporate was second at 1:36:36 and Rob Lyon - First Capital Velo third at 1:38:09. Don Pagano - Yellow Breeches Racing must have gotten straight A's in school as he is racing in the series this year with a perfect record. It's rare to be undefeated when you have tough competition at your heels. In the D&Q Summer Sizzler the top four racers in this class were all within ONE MINUTE of each other. This race Mr. Pagano had a significant lead taking first place Sport Vet 2 in 1:35:20. Bill Ambruster - Guy's Racing was second at 1:42:41 and third place was David Jones - NCVC finishing in 1:44:03. 2nd Place in series points is Larry DiStefano - Action Wheels who took fourth in 1:45:23. If Don were to DNF at Fair Hill and Larry places well, he could actually lose the series lead. |
