Don Morrison and Wissahickon Cyclery did a great job putting together this race and we thank them for their efforts. Was there anything that you observed that could be done better as the series progresses?

I was surprised to see riders pre-riding the course. (In off-road motorcycle racing this is strictly forbidden.) Some sport riders were actually passing the finish line during the beginner race, making the scorers job much more difficult. If riders are going to pre-ride the course, they should be banned altogether from the start/finish area when there is another race in progress.

When did you put the hammer down?

Right off the starting line.

If you ran into these exact trail conditions again, would you do anything differently?

No, the mud does not scare me, I ride in it all the time.

Did you have any unusual problems?

Horrible chain suck

How would you rate the course?

On a scale of 1-10, I'd say it rated 8.5. With a little less road and it would be a 9.5.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes. I had a scoring problem that was fixed immediately. I think the scoring team did a Class A job despite the rain and muddy number plates.

If you could do the race again - would you do anything differently?

I would not have worn my protective eyewear. They fogged up immediately and would not clear.

Is there anything you would like to add?

It was my first mountainbike race and I had an absolute blast. Wissahickon Cyclery and Hibernia Springs rangers did a wonderful job. I am already looking forward to this race next year.
