Did you do anything special to prepare for this race? Lots of base miles. Getting ready for the season - it's early on, I've got lots more training to do for the rest of the year. In the last two months how many hours a week have you trained? I work full time as a bike mechanic, so I usually only get between 15 and 17 hours a week. Were you strong from start to finish? I had a really bad start. Had to make up a lot of time - making a lot of tight passes - but I felt pretty good the whole race. The last lap was kind of hard pushing up a few of those climbs but, it was fun. When did you put the hammer down? The whole time. Did you have any unusual problems with the race? No. The bike was riding really nice. No problems at all. How do you rate the course? The course really didn't fit my kind of riding style but it was fun. It had a lot of nice steep drops so...it was cool. |

Were you happy with the way the
race was run?
Oh yes, Dave Berger always put on a good venue. What was your prize for first place? Cash If you could do the race again, would you do anything differently? Try to get a better start. I was in the back forth of the field when I started so I had to make up a lot of time. It was pretty tough passing and squeezing through the crowd. Is there anything you would like to add? No. |
