How was your fitness level going into this race?
Pretty good, I was riding about every other day or so.
Were you happy
with your position going into the singletrack?
Sure, I was in first place. Actually, I was a little unsure hoping that
I wasn't getting ahead of myself. But it proved to be worth it!
Were
you strong from start to finish?
I would say I was. I may have started out a little too fast at the beginning.
The course was consistently competitive. But there were plenty of opportunities
to catch your breath and re-energize.
When did you put the hammer
down?
I had it down most of the way, because I wanted to stay in the lead!
Did
you have any unusual problems?
My water wasn't coming out properly, so around mile 3 I had to stop and
re-adjust my camelback. That made a world of difference!
Were you
happy with the way the race was run?
Yes, very happy! Everyone was very nice and informative.
Did you have any
interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
I chatted with another girl, Barb alot of the time. She was cool, and she
motivated me to ride hard. She won in the 34 and older class.
Anything
you would like to add?
It was a great course-tough but great. Thanks for everything! ps I wiped
out hard at the end of that steep descent around mile 2-so I have some
good battle wounds from the race!
