What was your favorite Super Series race for 2001 and why?

Fair Hill.....I felt super strong and the size [717 riders] of the race reminded me of the old days.....it was my best race as I went wire to wire for the victory on this fast and beautiful race course!!!

Pretend you are coaching your closest competitor........ what would you tell them to do differently in 2002 in order to beat you?

Bill Gentile

Well that would be Fuzzy and I won't tell him anything, except how super strong he is and there is no way I will be able to stick with him next year.[hahahaa}

What is it about mtb racing (BESIDES WINNING) that is MOST fun for you?

Its everything...the new terrain each race.....its your equipment...its your tire selection....its your preparation...its your competition.....its your friends [most of the time one in the same]....its the party after...its the great outdoors...its the saga of the series....its seeing who can hold their bodies and their bikes together for the entire season...its seeing Mike Eatough {[tough[tuff] being the operative word]}the oldest in our class [a former world champ in our midst]...winning the last race of the series.

What month do you plan on coming into fitness for the 2002 season?

I will try not to loose the edge this winter...so the reply is all months

What month do you start your pre-season training?

February...in Jamaica at the Negril fat tire festival...2 tyres one love....

How do you deal with riding in the winter conditions (cold, snow, ice, lack of daylight)?

Winter in Jamaica and nite riding with a lupine light system purchased at www.gretnabikes.com

What are your goals for the 2002 season?

Win more mtb races and win at least one road race and one downhill race and win them riding on a Bergwerk Bike purchased at www.gretnabikes.com

If there was just ONE thing that you would like to see improved for next year (2002) - what would it be?

Bigger cash payout for the poor old Master Expert racers who are semi-retired and on fixed incomes.
