What was your favorite Super Series race for 2001 and why?

Fair Hill. We ride there regularly & the course was fast & fun.

Pretend you are coaching your closest competitor........ what would you tell them to do differently in 2002 in order to beat you?

Never quit during a race no matter what. Several races I won after coming from behind. Anything can happen in racing so just keep pushing.

What is it about mtb racing (BESIDES WINNING) that is MOST fun for you?

The comraderie w/ the other racers.

What month do you plan on coming into fitness for the 2002 season?

I don't know. But I usually feel fittest on the mtb in July-ish.

What month do you start your pre-season training?

Pre-season has already started. I'm training now by extending my season doing 'cross.

How do you deal with riding in the winter conditions (cold, snow, ice, lack of daylight)?

I do some nite riding, road & mtb. I try to ride on the weekends on the road if the temp doesn't dip below 25 degrees. It's fun riding in the snow when there's a dusting. I like to mix in other sports also. I'm hoping to get more XC skiing in this year if the weather cooperates.

What are your goals for the 2002 season?

I want to do a 24 hour race (not Snow Shoe) & do more road races. I just plan on doing 4 or 5 of the series races next season.

If there was just ONE thing that you would like to see improved for next year (2002) - what would it be?

Correct the scoring. Have 1st place finisher get the most points & then spread it out from there. I like the format for the MAC (cyclocross) series. They are giving 100 pts for 1st, then I think its 70 pts for 2nd, 3rd is 60 pts. Then 5 pts separate each category from there on down to the 20th place getting pts. And the team finish is based on the tally of indiv. pts & the winning team gets overall points of 12 for that race & 2nd place team gets 9 pts, 3rd pl. gets 8 pts, etc... It would be good to see a large & small team point system to encourage smaller teams. I already see defections from teams where the smaller teams are losing riders to recruiters on the larger teams intersted in gathering up team points.
