Ransom Weaver

How was your fitness level going into this race?

I felt strong! I'd just finished a month of base mileage in prep. for CX season, and I think it was just the ticket.

Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack?

Yes; a group of 4 had formed on the first up-and-down, and I was 4th of that. Romolo said later he was going hard at the beginning to avoid the inevitable mayhem in the 1st rocky track, and it was a smart move as I became the cause of said mayhem for those behind me.

Were you strong from start to finish?

This was a pretty steady effort, though I sagged a bit after Romolo crashed in the rocks before the 1st feed area.

When did you put the hammer down?

I didn't have long to enjoy the peace and quiet after Romolo's demise; Kevin Causak was quickly on me in the backside switchbacks. I ran hard up over the top, ripped the DH and put a minute or two into him on the last lap.

Did you have any unusual problems?

Toppled over in the first major rock garden, hooked seat around a sapling then had the first runner trying to get by hook his pedal in my front wheel!

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Fantastic! the DJ was super too.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

nah

Anything you would like to add?

Thanks and Thanks to Guys Racing, Guys Bikes, Cannondale and Bart Passanante.
